The Virginia Living Museum is excited to welcome two coyotes to their permanent home! The pups, a male and female, will serve as species ambassadors after wildlife rehabilitation experts determined they could not be safely returned to the wild. After receiving comprehensive veterinary care and behavioral assessment at San Diego Humane Society’s Project Wildlife program, the pups were then approved for placement by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. An update, many of you have been eagerly awaiting! Nora the river otter came to the Virginia Living Museum almost a week ago from the Maryland Zoo where she was rescued as a pup last year after being abandoned by her mother in the wild. Her personality has really shone through as she has been getting used to her new home and we can see why she is a beloved ambassador of her species!
